Trekking with a Purpose

Kathmandu TravelA close up look at Nepali culture in Kathmandu and a Trek in the Himalayas

Wherever we venture we will enjoy the sights, meet people, sometimes in their homes, and experience progressive development projects first hand. We'll experience Hindu and Buddhist religion and culture. We will be attentive to the varied ethnic groups that make up this surprisingly diverse country. We'll walk for 1 to 4 hours in the cities or in the mountains. During our mountain trek, elevations will vary from 10,000 to 11,548 feet.

The Didi Trek will be kept as inexpensive as possible. Approximately $2,000 will cover comfortable rooms at a Nepali style hotel, delicious meals (alcohol will be extra), transportation, trekking and entry fee.

Airfare to Kathmandu, your visa, and tips are not included. In lieu of a guiding fee for the trip, The Didi Project will request a tax deductible donation of at least $300 in support of our work in Nepal.

The Didi Project fondly honors the memory of Don Petersen (pictured in center above) who died in Japan in 2012 still involved in his adventuresome life. We remember his kindness and generosity.
